Why We Use Cameras to Inspect Your Pipes:

Here’s a common problem we come upon in this area. Tree roots can grow in the sewer line, and for reasons that may not exactly be pleasant to think about. All that moisture and, well…fertilization creates ideal conditions for roots to grow towards, and they may wrap around the sewer pipe and pierce right through.

Sometimes, we need to use cameras to peer into the pipes. That way, we get a much better idea of the problem, so we can come up with an accurate diagnosis and the right method for repairs. This may be any of the following:

  • Using a rooter to push through the roots (or pull some of it back up)

  • Hydro jetting to blast remaining roots out through the sewer line to the drainage system

  • Replacing the sewer line (and, possibly, recommending removing or treating the roots)

But it all depends on what we see…..

Leaks and Corrosion:

Another reason to schedule service for sewer line is if it may be leaking, or if it’s started to corrode. Hopefully, you will catch this early, but it often doesn’t come up until you notice unfortunate odors or leakage in the yard.

We can use video cameras to find out whether the pipes have sprung a leak, or if they are starting to corrode through.

Drain Cleaning:

Clogged drains can often be taken care of with relative ease. However, we don’t know this with certainty unless we use video cameras for inspection. Video cameras help us to see the level of blockage, so we can determine the right drain cleaning tool: there are many options! They can also check their work more easily when it’s done.
